Client: Novartis
Agency: Euro RSCG
Development ready materials were created for the UX of a collaborative CMS publishing platform and the IA of a facetted information document to be used by researchers, marketers and HCPs.
The publishing tool was accessed by two partnering pharmaceutical companies and a medical writing organization. The end result was a living product info repository that was used for generating an NDA (New Drug Application) for submission to the FDA and other global regulatory agencies.

Collaborative publishing platform UX: process flow
|
The UX design for the publishing system integrated multiple user interfaces on the CMS platform. It included the capability for an administrator/editor to close the system to contributors' submissions during review periods prior to updated versions of the published document.
|
Collaborative publishing input: wireframe sample
|
Functionality allowed collaborators to:
• create new content categories, sections, subsections and content; • save, retrieve, edit and submit content drafts; • annotate submissions with linked references; and • comment on submissions from other collaborators. |
Document content strategy: site map snapshots
|
A content strategy was created.to accommodate the need for the faceted info in the published document to be expanded upon and accessed by multiple user groups.
The strategy comprised creating a site structure for and having content be: • separated and meta tagged; • assigned to one of multiple topic areas (biology, science, clinical, treatment, etc.); • placed on the appropriate level of sub-content areas; and • assigned new marketing qualifier ("planks") tags. |
